Title Ionospheric observation data in east and southeast Asia on April 17,2023
Creator Lianhuan Hu
Subject HF radar backscatter echoes, VHF radar backscatter echoes, GNSS ROTI, ionosphere virtual height and peak height
Publisher Xiukuan Zhao
Description The LARID HF radar observations were made at Dongfang station (108.8°E, 19.2°N). The MIOS VHF radar observations were made at Ledong station (109.0°E, 18.4°N).
The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data and ionosonde data are from the Ionospheric observational network for irregularity and scintillation in East/Southeast Asia (IONISE), the International GNSS Service (IGS) Working Group on ionosphere and the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China (CMONOC). ROTI (the rate of Total Electron Content index) were computed for each 5min interval in the unit of TECu/min. The ionosonde ionograms obtained at Meiji, with temporal resolutions of 5 min were manually scaled with SAOExplorer to get the virtual height and peak height of F layer.

Type The parameters include UT (hour), Ipplat (latitude at the ionosphere piercing point), Ipplon (longitude at the ionosphere piercing point), EleReceiver (elevation angle of receiver satellite path at the receiver station). ROTI (the rate of Total Electron Content index in 5 min), SNR (signal noise ratio of radar backscatter echoes), Dopplervelocity (Doppler velocity of radar backscatter echoes ), Spectralwidth (Spectral width of radar backscatter echoes )
